Cindy Greene
Broker, REALTOR®
Candidate for Director
Affiliated with Byers & Harvey
In the past 3 years, what have you done to improve your skills as a real estate professional:
“Over the past 3 years, I have committed to learning as much about commercial real estate as possible. I have become a member of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) and have taken 2 of the 4 required courses to attain the certification. As a member of CCIM, I am offered other shorter, specific continuing education courses that I take on a regular basis to further my knowledge and understanding of the many facets of commercial real estate. In addition, I try to stay abreast of the changes in residential, multi-family and land requirements and I just signed up to get the CRS designation, as well. I am Vice-Chair of the Board of Zoning Appeals for the City of Clarksville and have served in that capacity for the last 5 years. That has increased my knowledge and understanding of zoning, variances, and other matters of property that we as REALTORS® may not see on a daily basis.”
What is your history of service to this association and its members?
“I have been a member of the Clarksville Association of Realtors since 2006. When the Association was building the current building, I served on the selection/decorating committee. I once served as chairman of the former Entertainment Committee, and I am now on the Governmental Affairs Committee, the Professional Standards Committee and Member Engagement Committee.”
Why are you seeking the seat that you are?
“I have been a member of the Clarksville Association of Realtors for 17 years and I have served in several capacities over that time, however, I feel that it is now time for me to step up my commitment and give back to this Association that has always provided a strong backbone for me as a REALTOR® to learn and grow. I am proud to be a part of this group and I think it is time for me to do my part.”
What do you feel are your strongest attributes that you will bring to this position if elected?
“Prior to becoming a REALTOR®, one of my first jobs was with the State of Tennessee where we did a statewide reassessment of all property including Montgomery County. After that, I received a paralegal degree and worked for 7 years in the legal field in Nashville, specifically in corporate law and commercial lending. After my son was born, I worked for 10 years in Clarksville with a local attorney in residential title searching, processing, and closing. My entire work background has had a focus, in some form or fashion, on real estate and I think that having this background would help me to serve the Association in many ways.”
