Handbags for Hope 2020

Handbags for Hope 2020

As many of you know, the most anticipated event of the year is approaching, Handbags for Hope! Each year Clarksville Association of Realtors Young Professional Network hosts this annual event that started 6 years ago. Over the years, our guests show up in their best, ready to graciously give to well deserving groups such as, Urban Ministries’ Safe House, Mike Groves Memorial Scholarship and CAR’s Spreading Our Support Foundation. In 2019 the event raised $145,870 for these organizations and continues to grow in donations each year. Sponsors donate luxurious handbags filled with desirable items for a live auction and members of the public donate additional bags for a silent auction. Year after year, our deserving organizations appreciate the donations immensely.

With the current COVID-19 circumstances, it is with heavy hearts that we are postponing our annual Handbags for Hope fundraiser that benefits Urban Ministries’ Safe House for Women, The Clarksville Association of REALTORS SOS Foundation and the CAR YPN Mike Groves Memorial Scholarship, until a time when we can gather together again.

In light of COVID-19 and the unknown it brings, the decision to postpone Handbags for Hope was not taken lightly, but we know that it is the right decision.  Sadly, with the absence of the event, there are still groups that are left without the funding Handbags for Hope provides. With that, the Clarksville Association of Realtors Young Professionals Network is asking REALTOR® members, Affiliates, community leaders and members of the public to help support those groups in a time where financial support is imperative to the well-being of so many people.

If you are able to give, any amount will help protect victims of domestic violence, support local students taking their next step into college, and benefit numerous other community organizations! To make your contribution, visit clarksvilleaor.com/ypn or give us a call at the CAR office.  Thank you for continuous support of your community.

With Great Appreciation,

Mercy Neysmith, CAR President
