Mike Groves Memorial Scholarship
Mike Groves was a member of the Clarksville Association of REALTORS® from 1991 until his passing in 2015. In his 24 years with CAR, Mike served in dozens of leadership roles, including as our primary REALTOR® Code of Ethics instructor. He was named REALTOR® of the Year in 2001 and was elected to serve as President in 2000 and 2015.
Mike strived to make CAR and its members leaders in the REALTOR® community and to exist on the cutting edge. He believed that the future of this organization was in educating, encouraging and investing in young leaders and in embracing emerging technology trends. Mike championed for the formation and recognition of the CAR Young Professionals Network and, without his vocal support, it would not be what it is today!
To fund this scholarship, the CAR YPN partners with the Spreading Our Support Foundation in fundraising and allocation.

The Application Process:
- Review the Scholarship Rules and Guidelines.
- Gather the required documents (all documents must be uploaded in your application in order to be considered by the scholarship recipient committee).

- Application Video or essay: (Video submission (1 – 2 minutes, video submission preferred) or personal essay (500 – 1,000 words) that includes what receiving this scholarship would mean to you, and how it would impact you, as well as a brief description of yourself and something the decision making committee would not know about you by reading your answers to the other questions asked on this application. Video option must be uploaded in MP4 (.mp4) file format only. Essay option must be uploaded in PDF (.pdf) file format only. Other file types will not be accepted.)
- Letter of Recommendation: (Referrer must be a teacher, counselor, other school administrator, mentor, or an employer that describes the student’s character, accomplishments, and why the student should receive the scholarship. Letter of Recommendation must include referrer’s phone number and/or email address in case we need to contact them. Letter of Recommendation must be uploaded in PDF (.pdf) file format only. Other file types will not be accepted.)
- Transcripts: (Transcripts with Cumulative High School GPA required. Transcripts must be uploaded in PDF (.pdf) file format only. Other file types will not be accepted.)
